Dear Friends,
It is late but wanted to write and update you on what is happening
here in Uganda. We have been very busy with crusades and other outreach
ministry the past several weeks.
Paul Conger was with us for a crusade in central Uganda.
It was great and Paul was a wonderful blessing. He touched many lives
as he ministered the Word of God to our people each day in the seminar.
At the crusade each night many villagers surrendered their lives to
Jesus!
Kay and I enjoyed the opportunity we had to just fellowship
with him. Paul and I would stay up late into the night in our tent
out in the village and recount our "younger years" as we
would sing songs and "name that tune." Thank you Paul for
blessing us as you did!
We then had a team minister in The Congo. We had many
sessions and saw many lives truly blessed. They are pleading with
us for a crusade in which it is estimated that more than 200,000 people
will be attending. Pray with us about this. The need there is so great.
We then spent a number of days on a very remote island
out in the middle of Lake Victoria. We had a crusade, seminar and
medical clinic each day. It was the first time that there had been
any kind of medical care on the island and at the crusade many came
to Christ. Our Pastor Paul, the first to visit the island with the
gospel, had been threatened by the chief. "You have six hours
to get off this island or you will die," threatened the chief.
On Friday, the last day of our crusade and seminar, we baptized many
islanders. The first one to be baptized was the chief!
Kay conducted another very successfull women's conference
in one of our remote villages. Hundreds of women gathered for the
event as well as many men - who by the way do not want to be left
out of anything! As Kay began to speak one afternoon she felt directed
to a different message than what she had prepared. Afterwards she
invited women forward for prayer. One lady, 48 years old, came forward
wanting a miracle. She had never been able to have children. When
younger she resorted to witchcraft in effort to have children. She
then became a witchdoctor. She tried many physicians as well, but
nothing helped. A few years ago she became born again and now attends
our church in the village. As Kay laid hands on her and prayed for
her she felt God did something for her. Some time later she went to
a doctor for an examination and found that she is now going to have
a baby! She is very excited!
Thank you dear friends for standing together with
us and especially for praying for us. We do so appreciate it. God
bless you! And thank you for your "partnership in the gospel."
We could not do without you!
Have a great day!
