Reaching the world for Christ!

Update from March 22, 2004

Dear Friends and Partners:
We send you greetings from Africa! We trust you are well. We have been busy with evangelistic crusades, medical outreaches and work on or school.
In early January we had a great crusade and outreach in western Uganda on the Congo border. Each night thousands of people showed up with many turning their lives to Jesus. It was powerful! We were joined by Pastor Len Ballenger and his mother Pastor Darlene Ballenger along with their team from Jubilee International Ministries of Pensacola, Florida. Together with their Ignite The World Medical Ministry team, our doctor and nurses treated just under 1000 individuals in the 3 1/2 days they were able to work. Of course they saw many more patients. If time and personnel would have allowed they could have treated thousands!

Working with the medical ministry was our prayer and evangelism team. Some preached and shared the Word of God with those waiting to see the doctors. Others then prayed for individuals after they were seen. During this time many were also born again.

During the daytime we met at our local church conducting a seminar where several hundred pastors, church members and new believers gathered for teaching, worship and praise. I wish you could have experienced this dynamic, powerful African worship and praise done is several different languages. It is beautiful!
From there we then took the mission to the Masai in Kenya. Again, hundreds were treated and indeed lives were saved.

In February we were much blessed by a team from Sign of The Dove Church of Waukegan, Illinois. This team led by Pastors Harry and Deborah Stackhouse ministered in our local churches. We then headed southwest for a crusade, seminar and medical outreach several hours from Kampala.

Again, hundreds surrendered their lives to Jesus during the week long crusade. During the seminar Pastor Stackhouse along with his director of music ministry, Cory Ratliff, and their team blessed, encouraged and opened the Word of God to the people.

Our Village Health Care Ministry led by our Dr. Richard Kawuki again treated hundreds including some emergency situations. Teams from Sign of The Dove Church joined with our team to minister to and pray for the crowds as they gathered and waited for treatment.

We continually get calls from the people of these places to return as soon as possible. We plan to do so and in fact, in May Kay will be conducting a women's conference back on the Congo border where we anticipate more than 1000 women will gather. March 23 - 26 she will be with the team in eastern Uganda for a conference while I will be in Kenya for ministry.

We were recently blessed to have stay with us Pastor Derek van der Merwe and three of his board members, Cory, Brad and They were here for a seminar and crusade with Pastor Daniel Nkata and Reachout Village Ministries. Our mission helped Pastor Nkata with his crusade. We were well blessed to have these wonderful men of God to stay at our home and guest house while they were here.

Work on our school and orphanage continues though at a somewhat slower pace right now. We do the work as funds come in. Right now we are busy finishing the plastering and electrical wiring. We anticipate opening for classes by August.

Some have asked if we will be shipping a container anytime soon. We really need to do this. We have a number of items in storage and much more that has been promised if/when we ship a container. We are hoping to ship one soon. Murray will be returning to the States next month to put one together and get it shipped.

Many have asked about the kinds of things we have need of so that they can begin collecting. Here are some items we are in need of: a tractor for the school/orphanage, a smaller lawn tractor and trailer, 4 wheeler, mulching lawn mowers, garden and lawn rakes, chairs for children, 9 classroom sized chalk boards, clothes in good condition, shoes, sound system, speakers, overhead projectors, filing cabinets, portable cassette recorder/players, a cassette duplicating machine, piano, computers. We can use playground equipment and toys. We also need photo copiers for the offices and library. And, should anyone have a pulpit, we could use a few of them.

We need books for the library. Reading books, encyclopedia (1990 or newer), National Geographic, etc.

We also have a real need for metric tools, ladders and carpentry tools - saws, drills, etc. We also need white or cream colored Rust Oleum and brushes/paint sprayers. We want to sand and paint our shipping containers. We plan to convert them into houses once construction is completed.

Bryan and Mindy Ezekiel Paul who just celebrated his first birthday are looking to get back here with us soon. We are anxious for their arrival. Pray for them as they prepare to return.

There is trouble in the north with rebels led by Joseph Kony. Also, the ADF rebel group in the west on the Congo border is trying to regather. Pray for Uganda and for peace in the land.

God bless you. We thank God for you and pray for you continually. Please keep us in your prayers as well. Have a wonderful day.
