Dear Friends,
Kay and I wanted to write and say hello and let you know we are doing
fine here in Africa. Kay has been busy with women's conferences. This
past week she conducted a three day conference in one of our villages
up country. More than 300 ladies participated. She is conducting a
conference each quarter. Many women have testified of the blessings
the conferences have been.
While she was conducting the women's conference I was out west working
with some of our orphans. We now have more than 500 children we feed
and help with each month. This is a much needed area of ministry with
more than 2.5 million AIDs orphans in Uganda. We are believing to
be able to change the future course for many of these children.
Soon the first building of our Yesu Afayo - Jubilee Primary School
and Children's Home will be completed. This building will include
administration wing, dining hall/auditorium, kitchens, library, courtyard
and seven classrooms. In about a week our workers will begin constructing
the roof.
With the roof about ready to go on, we will shift many of our workers
to begin work on the first of the dormitories. We have been able to
secure some more needed property next door to our present land. This
will enable us to expand as needed and also provide the opportunity
to grow needed vegetables for the children. We have provided
few photos of the work on the school.
We recently conducted a series of conferences in several locations
around Uganda. We were blessed to have with us Pastor Lindell Ballenger
and his wife, Darlene. They were accompanied by Don and Sharon Frizzell,
who are on staff with them at their church, Jubilee International
Ministries in Pensacola, Florida. They were a wonderful blessing to
us personally and to our churches and pastors. They arrived late Tuesday
night. We got them home and to bed by 2 AM. Then we were up and on
the road by noon the next day. We didn't stop running until they boarded
the plane for the U.S. We appreciate all they did to bless the work
of the mission.
Kay and I will be back in the US in June for a few months. We will
be working on arrangements for our Kids of Africa tour this next fall.
We have some meetings we will be attending as well. We hope to be
able to visit with many of you while we are back.
God bless. Have a wonderful day.
